Medals are a fantastic way to celebrate excellence in Lobster Ink assessments. The learning team at Lobster Ink wanted to reward first time performance on an assessment more than anything else.
Why is that, you ask? Well, performing brilliantly the first time you take a particular assessment means that you put all of the effort in by watching, interacting with and reading the lesson content. It’s what the ‘5 P’s’ are all about - Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance!
So, in line with this thinking, the Lobster Ink medal system works as follows:
Bronze Medal: Awarded for achieving a first time pass on an assessment, but receiving no higher than 89%. Only one Bronze medal can be received per assessment.
Silver Medal: Awarded for achieving a score of between 90 and 99% on your first attempt at an assessment. Only one Silver medal can be received per assessment.
Gold Medal: Awarded for achieving 100% on your first attempt at an assessment. Only one Gold medal can be received per assessment.
‘Master’ Medal: Awarded for a 100% score on an assessment. Why ‘Master’? Because you’ve totally ‘mastered’ that subject! Unlike Gold medals, a Lobster medal can be attained for a non-first time assessment. This also acts as a ‘perseverance’ award to encourage you to re-try past assessments to reach a 100% score. Only one ‘Mastery’ medal can be received per assessment. All assessments can only be taken prior completion of the course.
